The myths of sex before sport - Should Athletes Abstain Before Big Events?

I had to write an article for a basketball magazine about sex & game. Basically how sex before the basketball game will influence the players. Is the sex before the game good or bad for the performance of the players?

Many old fashioned trainers are not allowing sex to their athletes before very important game.
Is sex before the game really beneficial to the players or athletes?

Let's take a look into science of hormones.
Sex is the best method to increase testesterone levels. And when an athlete has increased testesterone levels, he has more energy, more focus, more aggressiveness, more endurance and more potential.
On top of that sex will make you relaxed. Sexual active athletes have more energy and they are more relaxed. This combination makes an athlete very superior.
Sexually active athlete is more agressive and more relaxed at the same time.
Athletes who do not practice sex before games, have to control their aggressive levels.
After sex, hormones levels sink but only for a short time, but that short time is not important for the athletic performance.

Conclusion: Basketball players can have sex before the basketball game but only with their wives :) Now you know why Kobe Bryant is so successful as a basketball player.

Do you have time for the gym in New York City?

What's important in your life? Your job, your health, your friends, looking good?

"Where you are headed is more important than how fast you are going. Rather than always focusing on what's urgent, learn to focus on what is really important." -- Stephen Covey

Maybe some things are urgent to be done at your job, but that does not mean that you should go ahead and eat junk food and say Oh my God I did not have time to eat something healthy so I had to eat something fast and quick.

Time management is all about making right decisions. At each step of the way, we want to choose activities that best support what we want to do with our lives. To do this, we need to be clear about our short and long-term goals. Here’s a general question to ask yourself often: "Is this the best use of my time in terms of meeting my fitness goals?"
Sometimes, of course, we don't have any choice. But remember even when you do not make any choice you already made a choice.

But ask yourself honestly, "Could I take more control if I really wanted to?" Often, we play the victim because we don't want to make the effort to change our behaviour. We blame our job, busy lifestyle in NYC, our dog, our dad but we have to understand that we are one to choose how to live. Nobody can affect you if you choose so.

"Time is a created thing. To say 'I don't have time,' is like saying, 'I don't want to.'" -- Lao-Tzu

So guys, If you say I do not have time to take care about my body, you are saying I do not want it.

Raise your consciousness and do not let time run you over. It happens with so many people in New York City. Remember you control your choices and do not let circumstances control your life.

"Don't get yourself in certain circumstances or instances, because it's not a good feeling to be sitting in that chair where you've got 12 people that are in control of your life. You have an opportunity to be in control of your life for yourself by the decisions that you make." - P Diddy
