Overweight People Now Outnumber Hungry People

Did you know it?
The world now has more overweight people than hungry ones.
"There are now over one billion overweight people worldwide, compared to 800 million who are undernourished. The main reasons for the boom in the number of overweight people globally are eating habits and less physical activity." -- Professor Barry Popkin, University of NC

Ketogenics diets: A Dieter's Dilemma

The ketogenic diet is a high fat, adequate protein and low carbohydrate diet. We all know Atkins diet. In bodybuilding and fitness world are very popular two keto diets: cyclic keto diet and targeted keto diet.
But do they work? Are they good for you?

Well let me tell you one thing, those diets are not working in harmony with your body. It is against evolution and human nature. Why? Because your body is not designed to have so much fat and no carbs. Why do I tell this? Because when you start eating again carbs your body will not know what to do with them because your body does not know how to handle carbs and will store them as a fat. When you start eating carbs again you will be fatter than ever.

That's why ketogenics diets are bad choice for losing weight.

Nothing is worth more than this day

You learn a lot about the wisdom of life just by reading books. I was growing up in Europe in different countries due to a job of my parents. A big part of my life I spent in Germany. In German schools kids have to read so many books compared to here in the USA. Back than I hated it. But now I realize the worth of it and why the teachers want you to read so much. Kids absorb so much wisdom by reading books of a German writer Goethe. Over the years those books shaped my mind and my world, become part of me, built my view of the world.

Goethe said "Nothing is worth more than this day." And really nothing is more important than this day. We focus so much about tomorrow but we forget to live and enjoy today, or to take action today. We always leave it for tomorrow.

I will share here my favorite quotes of Goethe. They are embedded in my heart and I always hear them in background.

"Everybody wants to be somebody; nobody wants to grow."
"The best government is that which teaches us to govern ourselves."
"To create something you must be something."
"We are never deceived; we deceive ourselves."

Well, I hope you like it.

Now I am going to eat my chicken :)

Dara Torress - my inspiration

Dara Torres is the fastest female American swimmer on the U.S. Olympic team -- she's also the oldest swimmer on the squad. At 41 years old, Torres has won nine Olympic medals and looks to increase her career haul in Beijing starting with the 4x400m free.

Take a look how she is rocking the world.

Her innovative training techniques and fitness are keeping her ahead from competition.
I am impressed, moved and inspired as a former professional swimmer and I have to say that Dara Torres is my hero.

I want to congratulate to her personal trainer and coach Micahel Lohberg.

Two weeks after Torres made the Olympic team, the man who helped her get there, personal coach and friend Michael Lohberg, was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia-a rare and potentially fatal blood disorder.

"I feel like I'm going out there to Beijing and doing this for Michael and making Michael proud," Torres says. "And hopefully putting a smile on his face.

No one could pull off this without personal trainers, coaches, nutritionists, personal masseuses, personal stretchers, and the list continues.

I love you guys!

Another way to use sauna at your local gym

A manager at a New York Sports Club was walking through the women's locker room a few years ago when she smelled cheese. Puzzled, she opened the door to the sauna, where a woman had placed bread and cheese on the hot rocks to make a postworkout grilled cheese sandwich. "Not only was it a health code violation, it was not really respectful to the other people in the sauna," says NYSC PR director Linda Hufcut. "She said, 'I do this all the time.' That was, obviously, the last time she ever did it.'"

This is not a joke. It is a true story

Are you complaining?

You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas and taking actions.
